Fostering is one of the most impactful ways you can help cats in need. Valley Cats provides support and guidance; you provide a safe, loving home until adoption.
One of the biggest questions we hear is,
"What costs am I responsible for as a foster?"
The good news is that Valley Cats covers the essentials, including food, litter, and veterinary care. If you're able to help with some of those expenses, we're incredibly grateful - but it's never expected. We never want finances to be the reason someone can't foster.
All we ask is that you provide a safe, loving space where cats or kittens can thrive while they wait for their forever home. Whether that's a spare room for a shy cat, a cozy corner for a senior, or a home full of playtime and cuddles for energetic kittens, your love and care make all the difference.
By opening your home, you're giving a cat a second chance and helping us save more lives in our community.
What We Look For....
Safe Indoor Home
All foster cats must be kept indoors. A separate space is ideal, especially if you have other pets.
Time and Patience
Fosters should be kind, observant, and willing to work with cats that may be shy, scared, or in need of socialization. Every cat is different.
Clean Environment
Basic cleanliness is important. This includes regular litter box care, fresh bedding, and clean food and water areas.
Reliable Transportation
You may need to bring your foster cat to vet appointments or adoption meet-ups. We will work with your availability as much as possible.
Good Communication
We ask for regular updates and photos to help us match cats with the right forever home. Clear communication helps us support you and your foster.
If you are ready to foster, you will be making a life-changing difference for cats in need.
